After six years of performing in European touring theatre productions which included Evita, Jesus Christ Superstar, and Hair, actor/singer Russo finally made his way home to the shores of New Jersey in 2004. It was at that time when he began his most exciting roll as Freddie Mercury in the world renowned Tribute known as Almost Queen. In addition to his uncanny impression of Freddie Mercury, Joseph is also an accomplished pianist which makes the Freddie Mercury experience even more mind blowing. Almost Queen succeeds in blending the vocal layering and studio precision that is a signature of the band with the energy and spectacle of a live stage production. Elaborate lighting, effects and costumes aptly frame the seasoned musicians who step into these very large shoes to effectively render an authentic "Queen experience". Joseph, accompanied by band members John Cappadona (Tribute Stars) as Roger Taylor, Randy Gregg (Thin Lizzy, Angel, Lauren Harris) as John Deacon, and Steve Leonard as Brian May, have been said to portray the world's most authentic quartet to recreate the magic of Queen.
